Two boys at Homer Middle School used artificial intelligence to create synthetic photographs of multiple female classmates. The investigation began when one girl reported the incident, leading to device seizures and a broader discovery of distribution to other classmates.

Outcome: The case was referred to the Alaska Division of Juvenile Justice and the District Attorney's office, with potential felony charges. However, police initially stated Alaska statutes did not address AI-generated images.

Army Specialist Seth Herrera, 34, was charged with using AI chatbots to create CSAM depicting real children he personally knew, including infants. Thousands of illicit images were found on his phones.
