Subject: Support Stronger Deepfake Protections

Dear [Legislator Name],

I am writing as a constituent to urge you to support stronger legislation protecting victims of non-consensual deepfake imagery.

AI-generated deepfake abuse is a growing crisis. Reports to NCMEC surged from 4,700 in 2023 to over 440,000 in just the first half of 2025. In schools across the country, students — overwhelmingly girls — are being victimized by classmates using freely available AI tools to create fake intimate images.

I urge you to support legislation that:
- Criminalizes the creation and distribution of non-consensual deepfake intimate imagery
- Provides civil remedies for victims
- Requires platforms to remove reported deepfake content within 48 hours
- Includes enhanced penalties when minors are targeted

Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Subject: Deepfake Abuse Prevention Policy

Dear [School Board Members],

I am writing to request that our school district adopt a comprehensive policy addressing AI-generated deepfake abuse among students.

Recent incidents across the country demonstrate that this is not a hypothetical risk. Schools in New Jersey, California, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and many other states have already dealt with cases where students used AI tools to create non-consensual intimate images of classmates.

I request the district:
- Adopt clear disciplinary policies for deepfake creation and distribution
- Implement age-appropriate education on AI misuse and digital consent
- Establish reporting procedures for students who are victimized
- Partner with law enforcement when criminal conduct is involved

Thank you for prioritizing student safety.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

How to Report Deepfake Abuse

If you or someone you know is a victim, follow these steps.

1

Document the content

Take screenshots with timestamps. Do not share or forward the images further.

2

Report to the platform

Use the platform's reporting tools to flag the content for removal. Under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, platforms must remove content within 48 hours.

3

File a report with NCMEC

If a minor is involved, report to the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or call 1-800-843-5678.

4

Contact law enforcement

File a police report. Many states now have criminal penalties for deepfake intimate imagery.

5

Use StopNCII or TAKE IT DOWN

These tools create hashes of images to prevent re-upload across participating platforms.
