Ronald Richardson, a 48-year-old vending machine vendor who serviced machines at Gilmer High School, was accused of taking normal, clothed photos of minors from their social media and using AI technology to make them appear nude. A student reported Richardson had asked her for pictures via social media.
Outcome: Richardson was arrested in January 2025 on 8 counts of possession of material depicting a minor in sexually explicit conduct. On April 16, 2025, a Gilmer County grand jury indicted him on 76 counts of sexual exploitation of children.

A vending machine vendor with access to Gilmer High School used AI to create images making minors appear naked. He also asked at least one student to send pictures via social media, prompting the student to report him to a school resource officer.
Outcome: Arrested and charged with 8 counts of possession of material depicting a minor in sexually explicit conduct. More charges are anticipated.
